Test Sessions have finished for 2007 - watch this space for Summer 2008!

At our club or championship meetings there are few opportunities to try setups or for new members to practice driving and have their laps timed. As some members might know the Club is only allowed to run race events on Sundays and a limited number of Saturdays throughout the year. Therefore we now plan to run a timed test session on Wednesday evenings.

The details are:

• Due to possible issues with noise these test sessions will be for electric cars only. This is because of the volume needed on the PA system to be heard over the noise of nitro engines.
  
• We will run separate heats for 27 turn, 19 turn and if there are enough drivers to make up a heat, Minis.

• Marshalling will be as a club meeting, so you will be required to marshal the heat after yours.

• All heats will be timed and a print-out produced to record drivers lap times.

• The fee for the meeting will be £1.00 for juniors and £2.00 for seniors. Non members are welcome to take part at a cost of £2.00 for juniors and £4.00 for seniors.

• Booking in will be from 6.00 pm . The session will start as soon after 6.30 as possible and will last until 8.00 – 8.30 depending on the light.

• The first test session will be on Wednesday 9th May and on then on 16, 23 and 31 May. If there is sufficient interest from drivers then we will continue the meetings throughout the summer.

We hope there will be enough experienced members attending these sessions to help any newcomers, so if you want to have a go this is your chance.

This would also be an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to gain experience of running a meeting and the software the club uses to time races. So if you want to help in race control please contact Alan Young or John Ridding.
